Sonu Shamdasani in Houston APRIL 1 – 2

Eminent scholar and editor of Jung’s RED BOOK, explores the ways that this historic publication will change our understanding of Jung and his scholarly work.

Professor Sonu Shamdasani, editor of the Red Book and General Editor of the Philemon Foundation, will be in Houston, TX this weekend, April 1st and 2nd. His lecture and seminar at The Jung Center of Houston will explore Jung’s work after The Red Book.

With the publication of Liber Novus—Jung’s Red Book—a new chapter opens in the reading of Jung’s works. For the first time, one is in a position to grasp the constitution of his work from 1914 onwards, and to trace the intimate connections between his self experimentation and his attempt to determine the typical features of this process through his work with his patients, and translate his insights into a language acceptable to a medical and scientific public. Jung’s personal cosmology and scholarly work can now be seen as two parts of a whole.

In the lecture and seminar this weekend, we will reflect upon the ways in which a reading of Liber Novus may lead to a new understanding of Jung’s biography, practice and works.
