Have you ever wondered why great works of art have an iconic quality?
Do you want to deepen your understanding of balanced composition and design?
Would you like to use ‘sacred geometry’ to greater effect in your own work?
In this hands-on workshop you will learn tools used by the world’s great artists.
Michael Schneider will introduce the traditional use of intentional geometric composition in the planning of the arts, crafts and architecture. The session is an investigation of the simple shapes, known as polygons, that make up the “alphabet of nature.”
We’ll learn how these shapes have been used to proportion great painting, jewelry, mosaics, sculpture, and architecture, including the beautiful designs of natural forms. Participants will learn to construct a variety of polygons upon images of multicultural art to see how they’ve been applied to composition in a variety of cultures.

The invisible but intentional geometric scheme underlying Hildegard of Bingen's "Adam Kadmon" reveals a sevenfold geometry (sacred mystery) surrounding pentagonal symmetry (life).
Participants will be shown how to develop the polygons into original schemes for use in their own creations.
Michael will also share his recent research into the geometric schemes underlying ancient Egyptian art.
